Mazda CX-5 Receives Best Family Midsize Crossover Award

Last month, Edmunds.com and Parents magazine reported that the 2017 Mazda CX-5 had been named "Best Midsize Crossover" on their "10 Best Family Cars of 2017" list. This annual list honors the 10 vehicles that best address the needs of today's active families, with added emphasis placed on fuel efficiency, cargo capacity and passenger room.

The revamped CX-5 is packed with safety and i-ACTIVSENSE technologies such as Smart Brake Support, Mazda Radar Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring.

In a press release, Tetsu Nakazawa, Mazda North American Operations Vehicle Line Manager for the CX-5, commented, “For 2017, we completely redesigned the CX-5 and made more family-friendly improvements. We even engineered the rear doors to open wider from the previous model year to allow for easier child-seat loading and unloading. Being recognized by Parents magazine and Edmunds is an honor and it attests to our commitment of making a great vehicle that fits a variety of lifestyles.”

Every year, parenting experts from the magazine partner with the website's automotive experts to evaluate hundreds of vehicles, narrowing the list down to the 10 that deliver the best blend of value, safety, performance and family-friendly features.
